Conflict to Connection
Turning Tensions into Teamwork
Introduction
About Conflict Management Training
Conflicts are the biggest threat to effective collaboration, yet they are a natural part of business life. It’s important that teams understand conflicts and are able to manage them.
When managed appropriately, conflict can increase interpersonal relationship satisfaction and creative problem-solving, leading to overall improved efficiency, creativity, and profitability (Chen et al., 2005). Yet, we have found that 9 out of 10 of our participants agree that they have experienced conflict in the workplace, commonly leaving them with feelings of anger or frustration, stress and demotivation.
According to a study by CPP Inc., it was found that on average, employees spend 2.1 hours weekly dealing with conflict in some way, contributing to financial downturns and the loss of productive hours. Furthermore, it has been found that one of the most common reasons for employees to leave a job due to is unresolved conflicts at work, resulting in a high employee turnover (Hom and Kinicki, 2001).
As common as the issue is, most employees and managers still lack conflict management training.
Our Conflict to Connection course works towards equipping people with the skills to understand conflict, the different types of conflict, conflict triggers, and how to apply appropriate conflict management techniques according to different situations and scenarios.
